From observation to diagnosis
Testing is adapted to the appliance and reported behavior. The items below guide the inspection; they are not a promise that a particular component needs replacement.
- Door and drawer closure
- Cabinet airflow and ventilation openings
- Temperature sensing and fan operation
- Cooling performance and installation access

A useful detail for this request
A small cabinet can still have several airflow paths. Describe where contents seem affected without taking out covers or blocking openings.
Symptoms worth recording
- Controls seem normal but storage is too warm.
- One drawer stays warmer than the other.
- The door or drawer does not close cleanly.
- Condensation appears on the cabinet edge.
- A small cabinet runs almost continuously.
Distinguish the symptom from the cause
A drawer front can appear aligned while the gasket fails to contact evenly. Closure and temperature observations should be considered together.
Installation access matters beneath a counter. Note any adjacent panels or flooring changes rather than attempting to pull the appliance out.
A control setting describes the request to the appliance, not its measured performance. Explain what you notice during normal use, then let testing establish the cause.
Prepare without dismantling
Move perishable contents if cooling is unreliable. Check only for obvious items preventing closure, and keep ventilation openings clear without removing covers. Leave built-in removal to a qualified technician.
From request to an agreed repair
Start with the appliance and a concise description of the fault. Availability and safe access are confirmed before the visit; diagnosis then leads to a repair proposal you can approve.
The diagnostic/service call is $95 and is credited toward an approved repair. An itemized repair price is agreed after diagnosis and before work. Genuine OEM parts are used. Same-day and emergency appointments depend on schedule and location.
Parts, warranty and scope
1-Year Parts & Labor Warranty covers parts installed and labor performed under normal use. It excludes new unrelated faults, misuse, power surges and work performed by others after the service visit.
Genuine OEM parts are used. Refrigerant and sealed-system work is performed by an EPA-certified technician. This is independent service, with no claim of manufacturer endorsement.
Helpful answers
Before you arrange service
Should I remove the unit before the visit?
No. Describe the installation and keep the surrounding area accessible. The technician will assess whether removal is necessary.
Can a drawer seal cause temperature changes?
Poor closure can admit room air. The inspection should establish whether sealing, airflow, controls or another issue explains the behavior.
Does this page cover a wine cooler?
Wine storage has different operating requirements and is listed separately. Choose the Sub-Zero wine cooler service page for that appliance.
